I sent in my email and made the post according to the rules, so I assume that my second 2 plays will count unless someone says different before gametime

BTW- I think I' m gonna have to start picking at 7:04 and get that +15 cents worth of value each day lol.

I really wish there was a way we could eliminate that ... no skill in that IMO.

hope your not referring to me. The three game I picked at 700 I got the worst of all three lines. I wish I could have used closing lines. I gave away around 30 in vig

No I wasn't, not really referring to anyone actually, just notice that it happens and it's unfortunate... I realize it's perfectly within the rules anyway, wish there was a way we could take that element out, but there really is no way.

No skill in what, wondering? Picking at 7:04pm to get a read at other contestants' picks first? In fact, I intentionally did mine today at 7:04pm when I usually post by 4-6pm Eastern time.

I did think it's not fair but at least we all have same numbers to pick from. However, I do have a suggestion (no idea if this was done last year) for Wednesday, May 30th! I don't know who will be impacted but honestly, I don't think posters should wait until 7:04pm that day to post their picks just to beat the current leader or copy 2nd place picks so the leader stays afloat, etc.

Did you have an email plan last year for end of month's picks? Since you & SS are playing, could we send the picks via email to Wilheim or something like that?

as bad as the moves have been this year, I dont think chasing the number has made anyone any money. Yesterday 7 totals moved and they all lost.

Cal, I wasn't referring to anyone in particular and certainly not you your se;lecting against the steam.

As far as emailing picks at the end of the month, we did not do that last yr....It would be pretty difficult for the leader to purposely pick the same plays as everyone else, too many people near the top to worry about one player....this has been a minor problem in other contests (head to head) but in this kind of contest it would be pretty impossible and I highly doubt we would see that sort of shananigans.

I do notice patterns of who tends to post within the last hour before the evening games because in my file, I did put down the timestamp of all picks as well. Today, I had my plays ready 2 hours ago but waited until 7:04pm to post because of a gut feeling about something that I'm probably just paranoid about.

Maybe there is one possible option with your idea, J-man...

ensuring that each poster in a month have x number of days where they need to post early in the day for evening games...

perhaps something like "3 days in any month where a poster needs to post their plays by NOON EASTERN and write in their post *early* to have it counted"

That way, everyone "has" to post early 3 times a month and will reduce potential copycatting.

I know...and I know certain guys do play the contest this way and they really have not benefitted from it yet....like Cal said we all get the same lines to chew on....loooong way to go.

Calvin, emailing plays SHOULD NOT be used in my opinion.

It can and will get messy by doing that.

If people want to pick EXACTLY opposite of your plays, then that should make you happy.

If you want to take EXACT opposite of my picks then I would love it

Cal I honestly don't think we have a copycat problem at all. There are just too many players battling it out, for anyone to worry about any one indiividual player....especially at this point.

Good point about the number of people who are still alive before the last day's picks for the top prize...

... I just could imagine a 3rd place person waiting for the 1st/2nd place person to post their picks (especially if they usually post early like some have shown tendency to post early)... then crunch the numbers in where the 3rd place person could overtake them... but I will have to see for myself how it goes next week.

Gotta bail... later!

Cheers,

If 3rd place wants to do that, then more power to them. If first and second wins then they take care of that.

But we wont have a problem in that area at all

In that case anyone who is in contention and is that concerned about that possible scenario can select at 7:04 late in the month....I really don't see it as a problem.

I agree with you there. However, at some point e-mailing picks should be an option. If you look at the other side of things, if someone is in first, they could for example pick some or all of the same teams as their nearest competitor to ensure that they couldn't gain any ground. Not to say anyone here would do that, but it's something that you have to keep in mind.
